Texas | Intervention Planning ToolImprove STAAR-Alternate Assessment Score with Literacy Starters

Start-to-Finish Literacy Starters provides intervention planning tools and age-appropriate, engaging reading materials.

The Intervention Planning Tool

The Intervention Planning Tool determines each student’s reading profile and recommends a targeted reading plan that fits the individual student's needs. Educators are guided through a variety of instructional supports and strategies based on the student’s ability level.

Accommodations

When accommodations such as computer accessible equipment, text readers, and word prediction software are documented in the pre-planned activities, they don't affect the scoring rubric. Scores are easily increased, just by adding all accommodations that will be used to the student's pre-planned activities.

Where to Find the Activities

The Intervention Planning Tool and all of the activities referenced are included with each set of Start-to-Finish Literacy Starters.  They are included on the Teacher Materials CD-ROM.
