TAKS-Alt Testing Accommodations Using Don Johnston SolutionsAccording to the 2007-2008 TAKS-Alt Accommodations Manual, “students being assessed with TAKS-Alt may have whatever accommodations and supports a teacher feels are necessary for the students to be as independent as possible, as long as the accommodations and supports are part of the preplanned activity.” Shown here are Presentation Accommodations (delivery methods) and Response Accommodations (response methods). Presentation accommodations (delivery methods) allow students to access information in alternate forms to regular print. Alternate modes are auditory, physical, visual and multi-sensory. Response accommodations (response methods) allow students to complete activities, assignments and assessments using methods other than paper-and-pencil or machine-scorable responses.
