Prompt
(without second switch connected)
Prompt will play any single message. Each time the switch is pressed the same massage will replay. Example: record a song or line from a song in a group setting.
|
Sequential
Sequential will play any series of messages in the order that they were recorded. Example: record a series of directions for making pancakes.
|
Random
Randomly plays a message from any recorded sequence of messages. Example: record the numbers from 1-6 and the device becomes a speaking dice, allowing the user to join in with a group game.

Choice
This mode allows users to exercise a choice between two messages. The main switch speaks the first message and the external switch plays the second message. Example: You could record Yes or No… or Please and Thank You.
|
Converse
Co-operative conversation mode (Turn Taking)
This mode allows a conversation to take place between two people in a strict to-and-fro order.
Example
Message 1 (George) “Knock knock”
Message 2 (Emily) “Who’s there?”
Message 3 (George) “Isabel”
Message 4 (Emily) “Isabel who?”
Only the main switch will play odd number messages (1,3,5…) then only the second switch will play even number messages (2,4,6…) When it is not a users turn their switch will not do anything, therefore a user cannot talk out of turn and must wait for the other user to speak their message.

Prompt
(with second switch connected) Auditory scan training.
This mode allows for the user or caregiver to step through a series of pre-recorded messages and then select the appropriate one. The external switch acts as the “Prompt” and speaks each possible message in a hushed tone. When the user hears the correct prompt he selects the main switch and the message is re-played in the normal sound volume. Example: in a restaurant the recorded messages could be hamburger, pizza, ice cream and hot dog. The user/caregiver steps through the choices, and then the user selects their choice of what they would like to eat.
