Speedy's Great!, November 13, 2012

By a reviewer from Arizona

Product Setting: Self-contained classroom. Skill Development: Improve cause-and-effect and visual and auditory scanning for students with severe cognitive impairments and multiple disabilities.

Although this product seems very simple, it helped teach my student with multiple disabilities including mental retardation, orthopedic impairments and speech and language impairment how to scan pictures through auditory and visual scanning. She loved to see Speedy, the main character, go fast in his wheelchair, play games in his wheelchair and go about his daily activities in his wheelchair. All of the students in my classroom use a wheelchair as their primary means of mobility and she related with this character in that way. There is no other software program that I could find that has a main character, or any character for that matter in a wheelchair. This game motivated my student to use a switch for the computer opening her up to other software programs that require the use of a mouse and switch. So strongly motivated by this program, she began using a mouse and is now able to use one upside down, sideways, or right side up. She has limited finger dexterity and range of motion in her arms so where ever the mouse ends up on the table she is able to maneuver it how ever she can and does! I highly recommend this program to anyone with students with physical impairments and cognitive impairments. It is very exciting for everyone involved to witness the progress and the child/adult having fun in the process!!!

Press to Play CD, October 26, 2010

By reviewer from Texas

Product Setting: I use this product in LifeSkills as well as PPCD classrooms in public school. Skill Development: I have seen this software used successfully at every level to teach cause/effect, from elementary to high school.

I have worked with students at all levels using this software to help teach cause/effect. The CD reinforces choices made in several ways, so it has application to all students (VI, AI, LifeSkills, OHI, etc). I like that it is errorless, which is important for students just learning this concept. The only problem I have is that there are not enough different CDs of this type! Please do not quit making this one.

TRC Press-to-Play Sports Review, March 4, 2010

By Nancy Bernotatis, Ohio

Product Setting: Facility for Mentally Disabled Adults. Skill Development: Cause and effect.

Client was finally able to access the computer and receive successful input with the cause and effect from Press-to-Play Sports. It was closer to age-appropriate as these individuals are adults with disabilities.

Barbara's Press-to-Play Review, February 2, 2010

By Barbara Stimson, Colorado

Product Setting: Inclusion classroom. Skill Development: Increased independent computer access, cause and effect skills, increased independent recreation leisure skill.

This product has been an essential part of teaching students cause and effect skills with the computer, especially in the kindergarten setting. Students have also been able to engage in age-appropriate "games" that are attractive to their peers.
