The MEville to WEville with Literacy Starters Program is a research-proven, K-5 multi-year curriculum has been enhanced to accommodate adolescent aged students with autism and other significant cognitive disabilities. Three sets of Start-to-Finish Literacy Starters (9 books) were specifically created to correlate to the three MEville to WEville units, plus, extension lessons were designed by the Center for Literacy and Disability Studies to glue them together! This collaboration is a recipe for success—check out the results of the research study funded by the U.S. Department of Education, conducted by Dr. Karen Erickson.

The MEville to WEville with Literacy Starters Program was conceived by
Dr. Karen Erickson, AbleNet Inc., and Don Johnston Incorporated. The
partnership brings together the power of MEville to WEville, AbleNet's
scientifically-supported early literacy and communication curriculum and
extended MEville to WEville lessons that leverage the strength of Don
Johnston's research-based Start-to-Finish® Literacy Starters content—all
combined with the research expertise of Dr. Karen Erickson.
