Marketing Professional:
Market and Write for a Company that Makes a Difference
Apply your marketing skills (full-time or part-time) in a company that has a positive impact on kids who live with disabilities. We have over 2,000 letters written by students who have been impacted by or software and books.
Responsibilities:
You will take products to market (design and run campaigns) and keep them going through traditional (press releases), blogs, and social media (Twitter, Facebook). You will conceptualize and write ads, catalog copy, press releases, direct mailers, emails, Twitter “tweets” and Facebook wall posts. You’ll need to juggle several products at once.
Qualifications:
This position requires excellent writing skills (engaging, making a brand come to life, story-telling, not just technical writing), creative problem solving, organization, project management, and an excellent understanding of marketing principles.
You must truly like marketing. You must have degree in marketing, communications, journalism, and/or psychology and have at least two years of marketing experience (preferably in a small company where you had to do a wide range of tasks). You must have experience working in a marketing team and understand marketing principles. You must have excellent oral and written communication and work well in teams.
This job will require you to work at our office (not from remote), so please consider your commute before applying.

Web and design associate
Apply your web design and graphics skills in a company that has a positive impact on kids who live with disabilities. We have received over 2,000 letters from students who have been impacted by or software and books.
We're looking for someone (either full time or part time) to manage our 2,000 page website (www.donjohnston.com) using a WYSIWYG interface. This will require organization skills. eCommerce, create basic graphics in Creative Suite, report website statistics to the company, manage Google AdWords, and pick up some overflow graphic design projects (among other thing). This requires juggling several tasks at once, so organization and a strong desire to learn new skills (as you go) is essential.
Qualifications:
You must have experience creating and managing websites and have a working proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Basic HTML knowledge and a degree in web design is a plus. You must be extremely organized and work quickly. You must have excellent oral and written communication and work well in teams (no prima donna designers please). This job will require you to work at our office (not from remote), so please consider your commute (to Volo, IL) before applying. Most importantly, you must be open to developing new skills and learning as you go—everyone pitches in around here.
