Win Support for Your AT Program This School Year...with a Video

It's hard to imagine NOT using technology every day in the real world. I can’t think of many jobs that don't require it. In the real world, using technology is seen as being "tech-savvy." And yet in our schools, technology is often seen as giving an unfair advantage. It’s difficult to see students with disabilities struggling to read, write and communicate when tools are widely available and very affordable. I hope this video plays at least a minor role in helping people think differently about assistive technology. Consider playing this video at the beginning of your next training!

Keri Huddleston and Her Team In Washoe County Did It—You Can TOO!

Making AT Easy | Washoe County AT classroomKeri Huddleston and her team from Washoe County Public Schools created a video that showcased the impact the AT team had on students with disabilities. The original goal was to garner more funding for their AT program. To the team's amazement, they not only got the funding, but then the video completely changed how people thought about assistive technology at every level within their district and across the community. This is a fine example of how storytelling can have huge and unexpected impact!
